The Hyvair HMS-160-B4KS is an orbital hydraulic motor in the HMS Series. An orbital motor turns hydraulic flow into low speed, high torque rotation, so it can drive a load directly without a gearbox.
The motor is rated for 15.9 gpm of flow and a maximum speed of 370 rpm. Maximum torque is 2743 in-lb continuous and 3346 in-lb intermittent. Maximum pressure is 2031 psi continuous and 2538 psi intermittent. Rated output is 13 hp.
Continuous ratings apply to steady running. Intermittent ratings cover short peaks, such as breaking a load free, and should not be used as the normal operating point.
This model mounts on an SAE A 4-bolt flange with a 1.75 in pilot. The shaft is a 1 in straight keyed shaft with a 1/4 in key. Ports are 7/8-14 UNF O-ring ports, which seal with an O-ring on the fitting rather than on the thread.
Speed follows flow, and torque follows pressure. To size the drive, check that pump flow at the motor stays within 15.9 gpm and that the relief setting keeps normal working pressure within the 2031 psi continuous rating. Confirm that your mounting plate matches the 4-bolt pattern and 1.75 in pilot.
