The Hyvair HMS-250-B2KP is an orbital hydraulic motor in the HMS Series. An orbital motor converts hydraulic flow into low speed, high torque rotation, which lets it drive many loads without a gearbox.
The motor is rated for 15.9 gpm of flow and a maximum speed of 235 rpm. Maximum torque is 3496 in-lb continuous and 4160 in-lb intermittent. Maximum pressure is 1740 psi continuous and 2031 psi intermittent. Rated output is 8 hp.
Continuous ratings describe steady operation. Intermittent ratings cover short peaks and should not be the normal working point.
The motor mounts on an SAE A 2-bolt flange with a 3.25 in pilot. The shaft is a 1 in straight keyed shaft with a 1/4 in key. Ports are 1/2-14 NPTF, a tapered pipe thread that seals on the thread, so use a sealant compatible with your fluid or matching NPTF fittings.
Speed follows flow, and torque follows pressure. Because the continuous pressure rating is 1740 psi, check the relief setting carefully. Keep flow to the motor within 15.9 gpm and normal working pressure within the continuous rating.
