The Hyvair PCP-RC is a remote compensator control for Hyvair industrial piston pumps in the PCP8, PCP10, PCP16 and PCP21 Series. It is a control, not a complete pump. Fitted to a compatible PCP pump, it lets you set the compensator pressure from a remote point in the circuit instead of only at the pump.
A pressure compensator holds a variable displacement piston pump at a set pressure. When system pressure reaches the compensator setting, the control reduces pump displacement so the pump delivers only the flow needed to hold that pressure. When pressure falls below the setting, displacement increases and the pump returns to full flow.
With a remote compensator, the pressure setting is made through a separate pilot connection. That helps when the pump sits inside a power unit or enclosure and the person setting pressure needs to work from a panel or another place they can reach easily.
