The Hyvair GT3.0 is an external gear pump for small hydraulic power units, rated at 3.0 gpm. It is listed with our small power units and gear pumps, for compact hydraulic power packs and pump service on existing units.
Two meshing gears do the work. As they turn inside the housing, oil is trapped in the spaces between the teeth at the inlet, carried around the outside of each gear and forced out at the outlet as the teeth mesh again. Each revolution moves a fixed volume of oil, so output follows the speed of the electric motor or engine driving the pump.
That fixed displacement makes flow easy to predict: double the drive speed and flow roughly doubles. It also means the pump keeps pushing oil whenever it turns. A relief valve in the circuit sets maximum pressure and gives that oil a path back to tank when cylinders stall or reach the end of stroke.
