The Hyvair PCP-SO is a single pressure solenoid control for Hyvair industrial piston pumps in the PCP8, PCP10, PCP16 and PCP21 Series. It is a control module, not a complete pump. It adds solenoid operated pressure control to a compatible PCP pump.
On a pressure compensated piston pump, the compensator reduces displacement once system pressure reaches its setting. A single pressure solenoid control puts that function under electrical command. Machine controls energize or de-energize the solenoid to move the pump between its working pressure setting and an unloaded, low pressure state. The pump can idle unloaded between cycles and come up to pressure when the machine calls for it.
Running unloaded while the machine waits cuts the power the pump draws and the heat it puts into the oil. Because a solenoid makes the change, a PLC or relay circuit can handle it with no manual valve to operate.
