The Hyvair PCP-LS is a load sensing control for Hyvair industrial piston pumps in the PCP8, PCP10, PCP16 and PCP21 Series. It is a control, not a complete pump. Fitted to a compatible PCP pump, it adjusts pump displacement so output follows what the load actually demands.
A load sensing control reads the pressure at the load through a sensing line, normally taken from the work ports of the directional valve. The control then holds pump outlet pressure a set margin above that load pressure. When an actuator needs more flow, displacement rises. When the valve closes or the load stops, the pump drops back to a low standby pressure and makes very little flow.
Because the pump produces only the flow and pressure the circuit asks for, less energy turns into heat than when a fixed displacement pump pushes its full flow over a relief valve. Lower heat also means less work for the cooler and less stress on the oil.
