The Hyvair PCP-2PSO is a dual pressure solenoid control for Hyvair industrial piston pumps in the PCP8, PCP10, PCP16 and PCP21 Series. It is a control, not a complete pump. Fitted to a compatible PCP pump, it lets an electrical signal switch the pump between two pressure compensator settings.
A pressure compensator reduces pump displacement once system pressure reaches its setting, so the pump delivers only the flow needed to hold that pressure. A dual pressure control gives the pump two of those settings. With the solenoid in one state, the pump holds the first pressure. With the solenoid in the other state, it holds the second.
That lets a machine run at a lower pressure for part of its cycle and a higher pressure for another part. Holding the lower setting when full pressure is not needed reduces horsepower draw and heat. The solenoid makes the change, so machine controls can select either pressure with no hardware or plumbing changes.
