External Gear Pump – 4.5 GPM – 4000 PSI – 4000 RPM – G4.5-2AK-3

The Hyvair G4.5-2AK-3 is an external gear pump from the G Series, rated for 4.5 gpm. Maximum pressure is 4,000 psi and maximum speed is 4,000 rpm. In an external gear pump, two meshing gears carry oil around the inside of the housing from inlet to outlet, which gives a fixed volume per revolution.

Mounting is SAE A, 2 bolt. The drive shaft is 5/8 in diameter and keyed, with a 5/32 in wide square key for a positive connection to the motor or engine coupling.

The pump uses SAE straight thread ports. The inlet is a #12 port with a 1 1/16-12 thread, and the outlet is a #10 port with a 7/8-14 thread. Use hose and fittings sized to the inlet so the pump is not starved on the suction side.

Flow follows shaft speed. At speeds below the 4,000 rpm maximum, delivery drops in proportion. Set system relief at or below 4,000 psi to stay within the pump rating.

This model belongs to the SAE A 3.25 in, 3 to 10 gpm gear pump range. It suits compact power units and machines that need moderate flow at high pressure from a standard SAE A mount.
