The Hyvair G3.0-2AK-3 is a G Series external gear pump with a rated flow of 3 gpm. It is rated for a maximum pressure of 4,000 psi and a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm. An external gear pump moves fluid in the spaces between two meshing gears and the housing, so output is fixed for a given shaft speed.
The pump mounts on an SAE A, 2 bolt flange. It has a 5/8 in diameter keyed shaft with a 5/32 in wide square key. Check that your motor or engine coupling matches the shaft and key before ordering.
Ports are SAE straight thread. The inlet is #12 (1 1/16-12 thread) and the outlet is #10 (7/8-14 thread). The larger inlet keeps suction velocity low, which helps the pump fill properly at speed.
Because displacement is fixed, flow changes with drive speed. Running the pump below its 4,000 rpm limit gives proportionally less flow. Size your relief valve to protect the circuit at or below the 4,000 psi maximum.
The G3.0-2AK-3 sits in the SAE A 3.25 in, 3 to 10 gpm gear pump group, a good starting point when you need a compact, high pressure pump at low flow.
