The Zinga SS12000M1A is an SS Series hydraulic suction strainer with magnetic filtration. It sits submerged in the reservoir on the pump inlet and screens the oil before the pump draws it in. A suction strainer is the first stage of protection on the inlet side, catching larger particles that would otherwise reach the pump.
The filter media is a standard 100 mesh screen, which means 100 openings per linear inch. Strainers on the suction side use coarse media like this because the pump needs a steady, unrestricted supply of oil at its inlet.
This M1A version adds a magnetic assembly. The magnets attract and hold ferrous particles, so steel and iron debris collects on the strainer instead of circulating with the oil.
The SS12000M1A is rated for 23 gpm and for operating temperatures up to 250°F. The outlet is a 1-1/4 in NPTF port, a tapered pipe thread that connects the strainer to the suction line or pump inlet fitting. Outside diameter is 3.2 in and overall length is 7.3 in, so you can check clearance against the tank depth and the distance to the tank floor before you order.
To size a replacement, match the rated flow to your pump’s inlet flow and the 1-1/4 in NPTF outlet to your suction connection.
