The Zinga RE409100 is an RE Series tank mount filter element with 141 micron stainless steel mesh media and outside to inside flow. In place of a pleated depth media, it uses a metal screen that stops larger debris with low restriction.
The element measures 3.91 in outside diameter, 1.96 in inside diameter and 9.19 in long. Confirm the media grade and flow direction as well as size when you order.
Both the micron rating and the nominal rating are listed as 141 microns. That is a coarse grade, intended to catch larger particles rather than fine silt.
Outside to inside flow means fluid enters through the outer surface of the screen and leaves through the center core. Install it in a housing that routes flow that way. Because mesh stops particles at its surface, debris collects on the outer face of the screen, where it is easy to see during inspection. That makes the condition of the element simple to judge at service time.
A mesh element suits locations where low pressure drop matters more than fine filtration. Inspect it at regular intervals so collected debris does not build up and restrict flow.
