The Zinga AE10AZ is a specialized spin-on hydraulic filter element from the Zinga AE Series, engineered to remove both solid particulate contamination and free water from petroleum-based hydraulic fluids. Designed for use with Zinga ZAF Series filter heads, the AE10AZ is an excellent solution for hydraulic systems where moisture contamination can lead to corrosion, reduced lubricant performance, accelerated component wear, and premature fluid degradation. It is particularly well suited for offline kidney-loop filtration systems where continuous fluid conditioning helps maximize hydraulic system reliability and extend fluid service life.
Featuring a 10-micron AquaZorb® water-absorbing cellulose media, the AE10AZ effectively captures fine particulate contaminants while simultaneously absorbing and retaining free water present in petroleum-based hydraulic oils. This dual-function filtration technology helps improve overall fluid cleanliness by removing contaminants that can damage pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and other precision hydraulic components while also eliminating moisture that can promote oxidation, corrosion, sludge formation, and reduced lubrication performance.
The advanced AquaZorb media is capable of absorbing and permanently retaining up to 4.1 ounces of free water, helping maintain proper fluid condition and reducing the negative effects of water contamination on hydraulic equipment. As moisture is absorbed, the filter media gradually becomes saturated, reducing fluid flow through the element. For this reason, the AE10AZ is commonly installed in offline kidney-loop filtration systems where controlled flow rates maximize water absorption efficiency. A bypass valve and service gauge are strongly recommended to monitor element condition and indicate when replacement is required after the media reaches full saturation.
The AE10AZ measures 3.8 inches in outside diameter and 5.3 inches in overall height and features a standard 1″-12 UN mounting thread for secure installation into compatible ZAF Series filter heads. Rated for a maximum operating pressure of 250 PSI, the element is equipped with a durable Buna-N gasket that provides a dependable, leak-resistant seal during operation.
