The TT-BB desiccant breather, part number TT-BB, keeps moisture and airborne particles out of a hydraulic reservoir and the equipment it feeds. It threads into a 3/8 in Sure-Fit connection in place of a standard filler/breather cap and stands 4.30 in tall.
Incoming air passes through polyurethane foam that collects oil mist and polyester filter media that stops solid particles at 3 micron absolute. It then moves through a bed of silica gel that removes moisture before the air reaches the reservoir. A secondary filter layer keeps silica dust from migrating into the system, and a nylon center tube spreads airflow evenly through the gel.
The silica gel holds up to 40% of its weight in moisture and also draws moisture out of the reservoir during service and shutdown. The clear outer shell shows the condition of the gel, so you can see when the breather is due for a change-out. Air intakes are opened to suit flow requirements and keep the gel protected while the breather is shipped or stored.
Maximum moisture retention is 28 ml / 1.0 fl oz, and maximum airflow is 7 cfm / 198 lpm at 1 psid. The connection accepts NPT, BSPP, BSPT threads, and the breather is 2.52 in wide. The body is ABS, nylon, polypropylene and Buna, with an operating temperature range of -20 to 200 °F.
The TT line is sized by moisture capacity, from 28 ml on the TT-BB to 424 ml on the TT-4. The TT-BB and TT-1 use a 3/8 in connection; the TT-2, TT-3 and TT-4 use a 1 in connection.
