Filter Indicator Gauge – 1/8″ NPT – HYV-1

The Hyvair HYV-1 is a filter indicator gauge with a 1/8 in NPT connection. It gives a visual reading of filter condition so maintenance staff can see when a filter element needs attention.

As a filter element collects contamination, resistance to flow through the element rises. A filter indicator gauge shows that change on its dial. A low reading means the element is passing oil freely. A rising reading means the element is loading up and is getting closer to the point where it should be changed. Checking the gauge during routine inspections lets a technician change elements based on condition instead of guesswork.

The 1/8 in NPT connection is a tapered pipe thread. Install the gauge in a 1/8 in NPT port on the filter head or housing, and use a suitable thread sealant for a leak-free joint. Do not over-tighten a tapered thread, since it seals by wedging into the port.

Before ordering, confirm that your filter head has a 1/8 in NPT gauge port and that the gauge scale suits the filter it will monitor. Compare the part number on the gauge being replaced, if there is one, with HYV-1.
