The Hyvair SBV-6FS is an S Series high pressure ball valve with a steel body, a 3/8 in full port and female SAE connections. It is rated to 7,250 psi maximum and to temperatures from 14°F to 212°F.
A ball valve opens and closes with a quarter turn of the handle. The handle rotates a ball with a bore through its center. When the bore lines up with the ports, fluid passes. Turned 90 degrees, the ball blocks the flow path. That makes a ball valve a simple way to isolate a line, a gauge or a section of a circuit.
Full port means the bore through the ball matches the nominal 3/8 in size, so the valve does not narrow the flow path when it is open. Pressure drop across the open valve stays low.
The female SAE ports use SAE straight threads. These seal with an O-ring on the mating fitting, not on the threads, which avoids thread sealant in the system. The 6 in the part number is the SAE dash size for 3/8 in.
