The Hyvair BBV-64FP is a B Series brass ball valve with 4 in female NPT connections. It is a manual quarter-turn shutoff valve: turning the handle 90 degrees rotates the ball between fully open and fully closed.
Construction is brass throughout the body, bonnet, ball and stem. PTFE seats seal against the ball, NBR O-rings seal the stem, and a steel handle and nut operate the valve. The PTFE seats give a low friction sealing surface, which keeps the handle easy to turn on a valve this size.
Ratings are tied to temperature. The valve is rated 400 psi at 100°F and 100 psi at 200°F. Check both the working pressure and the fluid temperature in your line, since the allowable pressure falls as the fluid gets hotter.
Use the valve fully open or fully closed. A ball valve is built for on/off service, and holding it partly open to throttle flow wears the seats. The female NPT ports thread onto male pipe ends or fittings; use a suitable thread sealant on assembly and support the line on both sides of a 4 in valve. Confirm line size, pressure and temperature against these ratings before ordering.
