The Hyvair BBV-6FP-6MP is a 3/8 in brass ball valve from the B Series with one female pipe end and one male pipe end. It is rated at 600 psi at 100°F and 100 psi at 375°F.
The female by male layout lets the valve thread directly into a female port on one side and accept a male fitting on the other. That can remove a nipple or adapter from the line, leaving one fewer threaded joint.
Like any ball valve, it operates with a quarter turn. A ball with a through bore rotates inside the body; aligned with the line, it passes flow, and turned 90 degrees, it blocks it. The handle shows whether the valve is open or closed.
The rating is temperature dependent. Use 600 psi as the limit at 100°F and 100 psi at 375°F. At temperatures between those points, confirm the working pressure stays well inside the rating.
The body is brass, and both connections are 3/8 in pipe thread. Check which end of your line needs the male thread and which needs the female thread before you order, so the valve installs in the right orientation.
