The Hyvair BBV-40FP is a 2-1/2 in brass ball valve from the B Series with female pipe connections on both ends. It is rated at 400 psi at 100°F and 100 psi at 200°F.
Ball valves are quarter-turn shutoffs. A ball with a straight bore sits in the body. Turning the handle 90 degrees lines the bore up with the pipe to open the valve, or turns it across the pipe to close it. The handle position tells you the valve state without guessing.
At this size, the pressure rating depends on temperature. The valve carries 400 psi at 100°F and 100 psi at 200°F. If your line runs warm, use the lower figure, and keep working pressure inside the rating that matches your fluid temperature.
The body is brass. The 2-1/2 in female pipe ends accept male pipe nipples or fittings of the same size.
Before ordering, check the pipe size and thread on the line where the valve will go, along with the expected pressure and temperature at that point.
