The Hyvair BBV-16FP-16MP is a compact 1 in NPT brass ball valve with a female pipe by male pipe connection. In the part number, FP stands for female pipe and MP for male pipe. The male end threads directly into a female port, which saves a nipple when mounting the valve on a component. It is rated to 600 psi at 100°F, falling to 100 psi at 375°F.
A ball valve gives quarter-turn shutoff. A bored ball inside the body rotates to line up with the flow path or turn crosswise to close it.
The valve is built for industrial fluid power use. The body, bonnet, ball and stem are brass, the ball seats are PTFE, and the O-rings are NBR. The handle and nut are steel. PTFE sealing resists leaks and is compatible with a wide range of fluids, while the brass construction resists corrosion.
The BBV-16FP-16MP belongs to the Hyvair B Series of brass ball valves. Because the rating decreases as temperature rises, check your operating conditions against the 600 psi at 100°F to 100 psi at 375°F range.
Use it as a shutoff on general piping, pneumatic and fluid power lines, or as a maintenance or retrofit valve where a 1 in NPT connection is needed.
