The Hyvair BBV-8FP is a B Series brass ball valve with 1/2 in NPT female pipe connections. It is rated at 600 psi at 100°F and 100 psi at 375°F.
A ball valve opens and closes with a quarter turn. Inside the body, a ball with a bore through its center rotates 90 degrees. Aligned with the line, the bore passes flow. Turned across the line, the solid face of the ball blocks it. The position of the handle shows at a glance whether the valve is open or closed.
The pressure rating falls as temperature rises. At 100°F the valve is rated to 600 psi; at 375°F the rating drops to 100 psi. Check both the pressure and the fluid temperature at the point of installation, and stay within the rating that applies to your conditions.
The body is brass. Both ends carry 1/2 in female pipe threads, so the valve installs between two male pipe fittings or nipples.
