The Hyvair BBV-8FP-8MP is a 1/2 in NPT brass ball valve with a female pipe by male pipe connection. One end accepts a male NPT fitting and the other threads directly into a female port, which lets the valve mount without a separate nipple. It is rated to 600 psi at 100°F, decreasing to 100 psi at 375°F.
A ball valve opens and closes with a quarter turn of the handle. The bored ball inside the body lines up with the flow path to open and turns crosswise to close, giving manual, positive shutoff.
The body, bonnet, ball and stem are brass. The seats are PTFE and the O-rings are NBR. The handle and nut are steel. PTFE seats give low-maintenance sealing, and the brass construction resists general corrosion.
The 8 in the model code corresponds to the 1/2 in port size. The valve belongs to the Hyvair B Series of brass ball valves. Its pressure rating falls as fluid temperature rises, so check your operating conditions against the 600 psi at 100°F to 100 psi at 375°F range.
